About RugbyTested
RugbyTested helps players, parents and coaches choose rugby gear that is legal, safe and right for the position.
Rugby gear is regulated. Studs, headguards and padding must meet World Rugby's equipment rules, balls are sized by age group, and boots that suit a prop rarely suit a winger. RugbyTested starts with what the laws allow and what each position needs, then compares the gear on fit, materials and durability.
We cover rugby union, rugby league, sevens, touch and tag rugby, and youth and women's rugby. American football belongs to FootballTested and soccer to SoccerTested. Protective gear reduces some injuries but does not prevent concussion; follow your union's concussion and return-to-play protocols.
